在非洲原始森林成了孤兒的嬰孩在猿猴家族的照料下長大成人，人類探險和出現(xiàn)打破了他寧靜和平和世界，也使他認識到他是人類的一員，他在決定歸屬哪一類家族問題上的思考因為他對美麗的珍妮姑娘的感情進而變得更加復(fù)雜，而人類將對猿猴家族的傷害更使他進入了進退兩難的境地。
幕后制作：
菲爾?科林斯的歌曲乃一大敗筆，初聽一兩首還可以，但連篇累牘讓人受不了。森林的描繪非常逼真，可能是借用電腦技術(shù)的緣故，層次感極強。泰山電影最早出現(xiàn)于1917年，也是最忠實埃德加?賴斯?巴勒斯原著的版本。1929年推出15集影片，雖然仍是默片，但第一次采用了泰山的吼叫。1932年的《人猿泰山》 (Tarzan the Ape Man)是第一部有關(guān)泰山的有聲片，也是約翰尼?魏斯繆勒和莫琳?歐薩利文經(jīng)典組合的開端，至1948年共拍了12部泰山片(歐薩利文參與了前面六部)。新近的真人版是1998年的《泰山和失去的城市》(Tarzan and Lost City)，由《星河戰(zhàn)隊》的男主角卡斯帕?凡迪恩和《情人》的女主角珍?馬奇主演，在南非實景拍攝，講泰山從英國返回非洲，以阻止搜尋失落城市歐帕的雇傭軍。影片特效并不高超，但男主角身材一級棒。
